Ten Lives Genesis Festival: Music on Regenerating Land

From April 29 to May 1, 2026, Scave World hosted the first Ten Lives Festival on our land in Cidadelhe.
The festival took place on Ramira, a 70-hectare plot that is too steep for tractors and other machines. That makes it a good place for restoration work done by people.
Each day had three parts. In the mornings, everyone worked together on restoring the land. The afternoons were for rest, workshops, and talks. In the evenings, there was music: techno, house, and traditional Portuguese sounds.
The idea behind Ten Lives is that a festival can do more than talk about land degradation and desertification in the Mediterranean. It can help fix them. We were proud to host the first edition and to see Ramira full of people who came to dance and to dig.
Learning on the Land: Students from Escuela Agroforestal Sierra Oeste Visit Scave
In April, a group of students from Escuela Agroforestal Sierra Oeste in Spain came to visit Scave World in Cidadelhe.
They stayed for 17 days. During their visit, they [what they actually did, e.g., worked on the land, planted trees, learned about our research.
Many of the students study [field, e.g., environmental science or agronomy]. At Scave, they could see what they learn in class happening on a real farm.
This is what Scave is for: letting people see regeneration with their own eyes and take part in it. Thank you to the university for bringing the group. We hope to welcome many more schools and universities to the land.
